Nic is a former runner who has been involved in coaching and managing athletes since 1992. As a runner he competed in middle distance track events, road and cross country events for Box Hill and Glenhuntly athletics clubs in Melbourne since 1972. In 1988 he won the Portland marathon in Victoria. He is married to Sonia O’Sullivan who was voted Ireland’s greatest ever athlete in 2004. During her career Sonia won 3 world titles, set 3 world records and won an Olympic silver medal in the 5000m in 2000 in Sydney. They have 2 daughters, Ciara and Sophie.
Gary as an athlete ran 2:10.09 for a marathon in 1980. He is also the winner for international marathons in Vancouver and Athens when he won the Centennial Olympic marathon in 1996. He is also a former Australian cross country champion and has represented Australia on several occasions at the World Cross Country championships.
